Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder

Jennifer Schneider, M.D., M. S.

Dr. Jennifer Schneider is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Homeward, where she is leading the transformation of rural healthcare through AI-enabled, value-based care delivery. A physician, technologist, and healthcare operator, Jennifer is redefining how healthcare is designed and delivered for underserved populations—starting with rural America. Her personal experience growing up in a small town and managing type 1 diabetes shaped her conviction that geography should never determine the quality or accessibility of care.

Jennifer previously served as President and Chief Medical Officer at Livongo, where she was instrumental in scaling one of the most successful digital health companies in history. Under her leadership, Livongo pioneered a new category of connected, data-driven chronic condition management—integrating AI, real-time behavioral nudges, and human support to empower people with complex health needs. She helped take the company public in what became the largest consumer digital health IPO at the time, and later led its $18.5B merger with Teladoc Health—the industry’s largest-ever transaction.

Earlier in her career, Jennifer served as Chief Medical Officer at Castlight Health and was a practicing internal medicine physician and health service researcher. She brings a unique perspective as a business leader, operator, clinician, and product strategist to build scalable businesses and platforms that improve population health and reduce systemic cost.

Dr. Schneider has been named one of Modern Healthcare’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare,” a Fierce Healthcare “Woman of Influence,” and one of Inc.'s “Female Founders 500.” She serves on the boards of Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Maven Clinic.

She earned her MD from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed her residency at Stanford University in Internal Medicine where she also earned a master’s in Health Services Research, and her undergraduate degree was in biology from the College of the Holy Cross.

President and Co-Founder

Amar Kendale, MS

Amar Kendale is the co-founder and president of Homeward, where he leads the development of the company’s AI-native care platform—purpose-built to rearchitect healthcare delivery in rural America. With two decades of experience at the intersection of health and technology, Amar brings deep expertise in building and scaling transformative products that span clinical, digital, and device-based modalities.

Before Homeward, Amar served as Chief Product Officer at Teladoc Health, where he led the company’s integrated product portfolio across telemedicine and chronic condition management. He joined Teladoc through its acquisition of Livongo, where he was one of the earliest executives and served as Senior Vice President of Product. At Livongo, Amar built the company’s first-of-its-kind connected health platform—integrating hardware, software, and human services to deliver personalized, data-driven support for people with chronic conditions. His leadership helped propel Livongo to a $3.5B IPO in 2019 and an $18.5B acquisition by Teladoc in 2020.

Earlier in his career, Amar developed breakthrough technologies across a wide range of healthcare domains—from advanced biosensors and wearable systems to implantable interventional devices, minimally invasive surgical tools, and microfluidic platforms for drug discovery. His work has consistently focused on translating complex technologies into scalable, user-centered solutions that deliver real-world clinical impact.

Amar holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and is the inventor on eight issued patents. He is passionate about building systems that make healthcare more human, intelligent, and equitable—starting with the communities that have been left behind.
